After day 1 of the Wyndham Championship, club member Carl Pettersson is leading the pack after shooting an amazing 8 under 62.  Although Pettersson had a great round, there are many golfers just a few strokes behind him, including Tim Clark and David Mathis who both shot 7 under 63s, and three golfers who shot 64s.  Being in the lead at Wyndham is not a new situation for Pettersson, back in 2008 he won the Championship and also set a round record of a 61, 1 stroke better than he shot today.  Pettersson has had 5 top 10 finishes this year and this includes a tie for third at the PGA Championship last weekend.  This has definitely been a great year for Pettersson and he would love to continue his string of great performances by staying at the top of the leader board for the remainder of this tournament.
